Public Relations and Communications
Communication activities accompanying the work of NRWR
A Social Association for Control and Information (TETT) was established by the Local Governments of settlements around the investigation site with purpose similar to that of TEIT, to follow the investigation work and inform the population thereof.
The confidence of the population living in the region, which is essentially required for the completion of the investigation work, has been established as a result of the communication practice applied by PURAM. The communication work is basically determined by the fact that the political decision, which is expected by many of us and is required for carrying on the program, has delayed for a long time. The appropriate use of the means of communication (press releases, brochures, the monthly issue of Térségi Krónikás, and the presentations in the TETT news) that took shape during the previous years, helps keep the issue of the disposal facility on the agenda of the local, regional and national media.
It is shown by the results and experience form public opinion polls extended over the entire region that the communication work undertaken during the past years was successful. The majority of the population living in the region knows what happened in the vicinity of their living place, they are aware of the work completed so far and have a clear picture of the significant items of work to be performed in the future.
The monthly titled Térségi Krónikás reaches all homes, thus providing a progress report on the work on regular basis. This paper is issued in 4 to 6 thousand editions a month.
PURAM traditionally organise every year the “TETT-re Kész” days (a wordplay meaning: ready for action), the Environment Camp at Szálka, which provides opportunity for the information of the public and those interested, and, through the supporting programs, for deepening the relationship.
