The work carried out by Public Limited Company for Radioactive Waste Management and its contractors are sharply separated from all kinds of the regulatory functions. Its operation is managed by the Managing Director, appointed by the Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Agency. The management body of the Agency has been composed of professionals with significant experience in various professional fields.

The staff number of the Public Utility, as of 31 December 2008, was 162 persons, with 7 of which employed at Budaörs site, 71 at the Paks Site, 46 persons at the Radioactive Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility in Püspökszilágy and 38 at the National Radioactive Waste Repository in Bátaapáti.
